A class to become familiar with the key concepts of French wine tasting!
HIGHLIGHTS:
- Discover the main criteria of wine tasting (visual analysis, olfactory, gustatory and sensory),
- Acquire the specific vocabulary, learn to put words on your feelings (robe, bouquet, robust wines, wooden hint, astringent, families of aromas ...),
- Become familiar with key concepts: varieties, terroir, winemaking processes, and designations,
- Develop an overview of the French wine panorama,
- Share and enjoy!
PROGRAM:
After 7 years in the wine business, working with wine merchants, winemakers, event companies and journalists, I decided to launch wine tasting classes; one can learn wine, the same way one learns in any other domaine: it's all about having the right tools: how to talk about wine with the relevant vocabulary, how to recognize a flavor, how to spot aromas, understanding the key concepts ( "terroir", grape varieties, wine making process..) - I want knowledge and pleasure associated with wine to be accessible to all.
Both fun-based and educational, the classes last about 2 hours and we taste 4 different wines selected according to the subject: discovering grape varieties (Chardonnay, Sauvignon, Syrah, Pinot noir, Riesling etc..), exploring the best possibilities to match wine and cheese or wine and chocolate, focusing on a prestigious French wine area, there are numerous way to enjoy and expand your knowledge!
Classes take place in the 11th arrondissement of Paris, 10 mn walk away from Bastille in an artist workshop renovated as a flat, Classes can be scheduled on mornings, afternoons or evenings depending on the date chosen, Program can be held in English and German,
